Replacing Sequence

1. Check new filter availability
Before removing a spin on filter, first refer to the Service Manual for the vehicle and identify the type of filter required. Each vehicle may be mentioned the OEM* number in the manual or will be written at original filter sidewall. With FAC filter, each spin on filter has its FAC number that you can choose it from our catalogue and also the OEM number (replace) clearly written on both packing and housing body.

2. Locate filter and correct tool

The filter is usually be located on the side of the engine block or at an angle below the engine.Use the right tool (usually chain or belt hand tool) to loosen the old filter counter clockwise. Take care of the engine housing thread.

3. Remove filter and inspect
Remove the filter and clean the seating area on the engine so that its surface and the surface of the new filter can seal properly.Make sure that the seal from the removed filter is not still stuck to the engine.

4. Obtain replacement filter
Confirm the correct part number and obtain the replacement filter from FAC products. It is good practice to fit a new filter every time you drain the new fluid.

5. Correctly fit replacement filter
Apply a little oil or grease on the surface of the new sealing ring. This will help to make a tight seal, it will also prevent the gasket from binding and distorting while it is being tightened. Screw in the filter until the two surfaces are touching. Then, tight an over 3/4 turn to assure good mounting.

Note:
All FAC products have written instructions for replacing procedures located on both packing and housing body.
